Apostolos Petropoulos (PhD candidate) graduated from the Department of Animal Science & Aquaculture at the Agricultural University of Athens (2019) and obtained a MSc in Food Science & Technology from the Department of Food Science & Human Nutrition at the same university (2023). His PhD thesis focuses on the bioprocess development for succinic acid production via fermentation with a novel electrochemical bioreactor using the organic fraction of municipal solid waste and wood by-products. His research interests concern the valorization of renewable carbon sources, the development and optimization of bioprocesses and the production of value-added bioproducts via microbial fermentations.
