Chrysanthi Argeiti

Postdoctoral Researcher

Chrysanthi Argeiti, (female, post-doctoral researcher) is a Food Scientist and Human Nutritionist with a BSc (2020) in Food Science and Nutrition from the Agricultural University of Athens. In 2025, she accomplished her PhD at the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece, with a focused dissertation on “Development of circular bioprocesses and biorefineries for the production and biological recycling of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate).” Her research interests focus on industrial biotechnology, microbial fermentations, circular bioeconomy, sustainable bioprocess development and the application of electricity-based technologies in bioprocessing. More specifically, her work involves the valorization of renewable feedstocks and agro-industrial by-products for the production of biopolymers and microbial protein. She is also actively engaged in the enzymatic recycling of bioplastics for the production of biobased products, the bioconversion of CO₂ into value-added products through anaerobic microbial processes targeting microbial protein production, and the development of integrated biorefinery approaches employing non-thermal plasma technology for biomass pretreatment and sustainable bioprocess development.
